Knitted Washcloth

Knitted Washcloth

Materials:

1 ball of Lily Sugar’n Cream 100% cotton yarn (95 yards.) in any color,

Pair of size 7 knitting needles

Scissors

Yarn needle

Instructions:

Cast on 40 stitches and knit until your washcloth is a square. To check to see if it is square, take one bottom corner and fold your knitting into a triangle. If all the edges line up nicely, bind off and weave in your ends.

Project Time:

This project took me about a day or two.

Patience Level:

This is a good project to build skill and patience. Not a super long project, this is great for beginners. Washcloths are a good thing to fill a hope chest with; you can’t beat homemade washrags. These make great gifts!

The Finished Product:

When finished, the washcloth measures about 8 ½” by 8 ½”.

Knitted Cowl

Knitted Cowl 2

Materials:

1 ball of Cotton Fair fine yarn (I used slate gray) 317 yd.

A pair of size 7 circular needles

14” cable

Instructions:

Cast on enough stitches to cover your needle and be able to knit easily. Join your knitting and knit until you almost run out of yarn. Leave enough yarn to bind off and weave in the ends.

Project Time:

This project took me about a month and a half, on and off. I just wanted something long to work on while I was listening to an audio book or watching a movie. You could definitely finish it sooner if you worked on it pretty regularly.

Patience Level:

If you are a beginner, I would not recommend this project, as it requires a good bit of patience.

The Finished Product:

When finished, the cowl is approximately 18” long not including the rolled ends. If you do a good job, it should look like something you buy at the store.
